Obudu Mountain Resort
Hike through the highlands at 1,576m altitude with cool temperatures, stunning valley views, and the chance to ride Africa's longest cable car. Multiple trails from easy walks to challenging mountain treks. The annual Obudu Mountain Race (November) attracts international athletes.
Idanre Hills (Ondo State)
A spectacular granite inselberg rising to 3,000 feet with 660 steps carved into the rock. The summit features ancient ruins, a court, and the grave of Agbooogun (the founder). Stunning panoramic views. About 5 hours from Lagos.
Olumo Rock (Abeokuta)
A historic granite rock with stairs and an elevator to the summit. Panoramic views of Abeokuta city. The rock served as a natural fortress during the 19th-century inter-tribal wars. Easy day trip from Lagos (1.5 hours).
Chappal Waddi (Taraba State)
Nigeria's highest mountain at 2,419m. Located in the Gashaka-Gumti National Park, this challenging trek requires several days and a guide. For experienced hikers only. The surrounding national park (6,731 sq km) is Nigeria's largest.
