Nigerian Visa Services
Nigerian embassies and consulates process visa applications for foreign nationals wishing to visit Nigeria. Since May 2026, most visa applications are handled through the e-Visa system.
Visa Types Available
Tourist Visa (TVA)
For tourism, visiting family and friends, or medical treatment. Valid for up to 90 days. Apply through the e-Visa portal or at an embassy.
Business Visa (BVA)
For business meetings, conferences, negotiations, and commercial activities. Requires a business invitation letter from a Nigerian company. Valid for up to 90 days.
Transit Visa (TVR)
For travellers passing through Nigeria. Valid for up to 48 hours. Requires proof of onward travel.
Subject to Regularization (STR)
For expatriates taking up employment in Nigeria. Valid for 90 days, after which the holder must obtain a CERPAC (residence permit). Requires employer sponsorship.
Temporary Work Permit (TWP)
For specific project-based work assignments. Duration depends on the project timeline. Requires employer sponsorship and project documentation.
Diplomatic/Official Visa
For holders of diplomatic or official passports on government or international organization business.

- Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity, 2 blank pages)
- Completed visa application form
- Recent passport photograph (white background)
- Proof of return or onward travel
- Proof of accommodation in Nigeria
- Proof of sufficient funds
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory)
- Business invitation letter (for business visas)
- Employment letter (for STR/TWP visas)
