What If My Passport Is Delayed?

If your passport has exceeded the expected processing time:

  1. Check the online portal for any status updates or issues flagged with your application
  2. Contact the embassy where you submitted your biometrics, providing your reference number
  3. Check your email for any communication from NIS requesting additional documents
  4. Ensure your NIN details match your passport application exactly — mismatches cause delays
  5. If travelling urgently, ask the embassy about an Emergency Travel Certificate

Common causes of delay: NIN data mismatch, incomplete documentation, high-season demand, production backlog, or pending verification checks.
