Nigeria Launches e-Visa System
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) launched a new electronic visa system on 1 May 2026, replacing the previous Visa on Arrival program. The e-Visa system allows eligible nationals to apply online with approval within 24-48 hours. The system is integrated with global security databases for enhanced processing.

The Federal Government approved revised passport fees effective 1 September 2026. Within Nigeria, the 32-page passport now costs NGN 100,000 and the 64-page costs NGN 200,000. Diaspora fees remain at $150 (32-page) and $230 (64-page). The revision aims to improve passport production and delivery efficiency.
